North Texas, TX – With deepest sorrow and a profound sense of loss, we announce the passing of Ron Underwood on February 18, 2025, peacefully surrounded by his family, a cherished member of our Board of Directors and a luminary in our industry.
For over four decades, Ron stood as a pillar of excellence, leaving an indelible mark on every organization he served. His career, defined by strategic vision and unwavering dedication, began in 1976 as Vice President of Sooner Oil. In 1982, he embarked on a transformative journey as President of Poly Pipe, where his leadership cultivated a formidable team and propelled the company to unprecedented growth.
Ron’s legacy of impactful leadership extended to Christie Manufacturing and Connectra Fusion Technologies, LLC, where his visionary presidency advanced industry standards. His passion for innovation continued in business development at Georg Fischer, where his insight and dedication further elevated the field.
In 2016, Ron brought his unparalleled expertise to Pipeline Plastics as Chief Operating OƯicer, where his strategic guidance was instrumental in shaping the company’s success. Later, as Senior Advisor, he continued to provide invaluable counsel, culminating in his appointment to our Board of Directors in 2022. His wisdom and experience have been guiding lights for our organization.
Beyond his remarkable professional accomplishments, Ron was a man of deep faith and compassion. He served as a respected minister in the Methodist Church and as a devoted Sunday school teacher. His commitment to community was evident in his service as President of the United Way of Cooke County and as a Board Member of the Cooke County Boys and Girls Club.
Ron’s love for life extended beyond his professional and community endeavors. A passionate sailor and rancher for 17 years, he found joy in the open waters and the company of horses.
Above all, Ron was a man of integrity, service, and kindness. A mentor, leader, and steadfast friend, he enriched the lives of all who knew him. His warmth, empathy, and unwavering dedication created a legacy of compassion that will endure for generations.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Mitzie Underwood; his son, Asher Underwood and wife Melissa; stepchildren Jodi Fry and husband Sammy Fry, Kelly Brannan, and William Brannan; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his twin brother Don Underwood and wife Bobbi; his brother Walt Underwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron Underwood leaves behind a legacy that transcends professional achievements — a legacy woven with innovation, strategic brilliance, and, most importantly, the enduring power of human connection. His impact will be felt for years to come. During this time of profound grief, our hearts and thoughts are with Ron’s family, friends, and all those touched by his extraordinary life.
